"You can chain men, you can torture me, you can even destroy my body, but you will never imprison my mind" -Mahatma Gandhi
In the United States, the prison system faces significant challenges in providing fair living conditions and opportunities for rehabilitation. Nationwide statistics reveal a pressing need for criminal justice reform, but numbers only do so much to reveal the inequality of the incarcerated. Our founder Felicia Vereen began Rights 4 Life after personally serving as a voice for those who were unheard and unseen in the prison system.
Ms. Vereen saw how overcrowding and substandard living conditions affected the lives of those in prison. Inadequate healthcare, limited access to education and job training, and high rates of recidivism further highlight the urgency of reform.
At Rights 4 Life, our mission is to advocate for those incarcerated and recently released. We work to provide fair living conditions in prison and assistance afterwards, to bring meaningful change that ensures the rights and well-being of all.
At Rights 4 Life, one of our primary efforts is to provide fair living conditions for the incarcerated.
We raise awareness about the injustices that exist within the criminal justice system and advocate for reforms that address issues such as overcrowding, inadequate healthcare, and lack of access to education and rehabilitation programs. By championing for change, we strive to create a more just and equitable society.
Every individual, regardless of their mistakes, deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and humanity. Join us in our mission to transform the prison system, inside and out.
